I spent quite a while repairing a CTC169 PTV chassis once.
The Vertically mounted Black Stretch Module(and main PCB area)
looked like it had had something spilled there. 
There was mouse #2 everywhere also. 
I assumed it was mouse #1 that was the 'spillage'.
The Black Stretch Module repaired the set(intermittent loss of
Luminance/Horizontal Sync)
