seems like g2 is ok, i now suspect bad jungle IC feeding video output ic on crt board. output voltages from flyback windings seem ok, just hard to except 2 different problems at same time. draws very low current, smp in up to power, but still shut down in 10 seconds, with hardly any light on screen. I am giving up on this one, cant see gambling and changing that 4 sided ic. lol thanks all, Larry Intrepid Video Support wrote: > Larry, >>From Tech Repair CD: > Magnavox\27PS55S321 27T800\Shutdown (into protect) with no symptom > shown\Adjustment of Sg2 (master screen > on LOT) may resolve but symptom may return\\27T800 \The LOT (flyback) 5445. > Several returned samples have > been discovered with unstable/intermittent Sg2 controls.\Monitoring the Sg2 > voltage may provide proof of > this as the cause of protection\\\\\\\ > Jeff > -- > Intrepid Video TV/VCR Repair > 263 S Front St, Steelton PA 17113 > 717-939-7708; (F) 717-564-4952 > www.intrepid-video.com www.tech-repair.net > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "larry" <schntv@xxxxxxxxxxxx> > To: <techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Tuesday, August 17, 2004 2:37 PM > Subject: [TechAssist] Phillips 27T800 glassy pix > > > had shorted flyback, used replacement and now set comes on but > has very glassy pix, like very bad crt. > also shuts down in 10 seconds. > low current drain, hi-v at 25 kv. > pix has popper hight and width. > any help appreciated. > Larry > -- Schneider TV & Electronic Inc. 5415 N.
