Hi Roger, Thanks for the link. This was about the first thing I tried, but like a lot of other things it didn't help (very old converter - 1999). It turned out that someone that had MS Word XP had no trouble opening the file and then converted it to RTF (which is the only format that anyone should use when sending a file to other people). Almost any PC can open an RTF file. The WPS I received was probably from a new version of MS Works.
