Hmmm, well if it's blowing the regulator instantly, I'd start by checking the Horiz output. If it's slowly killing the regulator, I'd hook a scope to the emitter of q601/602 and see if the duty cycle of the transistors is equal. If not check the caps, resistors and diodes of Q601/602 base/emitter path.
