I'm not sure about Sat. But Cable? No.
Cable is trying to sell Digital, but it's not High Def.

Don't you guys up there have HD via sat or cable. We only have the PBS
station in HD OTA here, and FOX in 480p from about 40 miles away, but we
have had sat HD for several years, and cable HD for about a year. The
HD
stuff generally looks very good unless it gets compressed or the signal
drops out. The OTA stuff from PBS is quite impressive. I pick up one
HD
and one SD feed with a loop inside the shop, where I hardly get a signal
from the NTSC channels. If the signal is there it is great. Sometimes
with
weather I get it freezing and pixelating, but even the SD digital is far
better than the reception on the standard channels.

Lots of options and lots of capability make anything more confusing
until
you learn it.
