Larry,
He can not hook is cable directly to HD INPUT 4(by-passing the box)..I'm not
sure what he's saying here.
You will almost have to have something to input an HD signal into those
jacks...a DVD player may be a good
choice to see if the problem is the HD cable box.
Also, Hitachi offers free acces to their manuals and technical support.

Hi Guys, chassis # is DP14G, customer says this set is only 2 years old,
I don`t have a schematic,
customer claims he gets normal picture & sound on "HD input, video input
4??" no picture on
any other input, audio is just a rushing noise like you get when the
cable is out, I`m not
familiar with "HD input 4" he says he has a digital cable box for this
"HD" input and has
already tried bypassing the box and hooking the cable straight to the tv
with the same
results, this is going to be a late afternoon call and at this point I
don`t have a clue why
it would work on one video input and not on rf or the other video
inputs, any thoughts
would be greatly appreciated, Larry E
