That's a tough one. It depends alot on who wrote the software.
For intance, microsoft has to be installed via it's original disk to
get the registry to accept it and all it components. I doubt if you
could successfully transfer MS office in it's installed form and expect
it to work. However, you can make copies of the original install disks
which work fine.
If all else fails, install the corrupt drive on the new computer as a
slave, and run it like that. Try dragging and dopping it onto the new
drive, then see if it will fly when you open it. I dunno, but it's worth
a shot.
