[TechAssist] Citizen TV/VCR JCTV1591 and JCTV3091

These sets..one a 14" and the other a 20" show the same problem.
These are 1997 Vintage.
If a tape is inserted played/F.F. or Rewound it will run for about 10 to 15
seconds then shut down.
I have pulled and cleaned the Mode switch, but same difference.
This is probably a Canadian set since I don't Citizen is sold in US.
Any ideas...LMK..
