Bill, What's the chassis #, I had a CTC 169 that had exact same problem, and it ended up being diode CR4111 causing the unit to shut off and come right back on. Sometimes the set would act up a couple of times a night while the customer was watching it, and other times it may play for a week before acting up again. Replacing the diode which came in a kit solved the problem. This set has been a struggle to get a handle on. In the home it plays intermittently for 10 minutes to a day and shutsdown. Comes right back on shortly. No distortions in pix or audio before or after. I brought into shop played 4 days never went off, but I did see it act up at house. One of the fans had a bad bearing so replaced the fans and touched up some pc board connections. > After a week it is back. I called techline from RCA but all updates have been done to this chassis and their suggestions were not helpful. Error code displayed suggests problem with reset pulse to u18101? chip or por pulse at micro. Possible 3.3v regulator bad? F2pip problem. When it works all tests seem nominal. Any ideas out there? It is a 52 mile round trip for 2 each time.
