Ellis,

While I was working in London I was designing a signal scheme which had t=
his type of 'reverse' SD it was on Wandsworth Rd in Lambeth. I'm not sure=
if this implemented though. You could contact TfL to find out though

Subject: [TCUG] Red lights

We have has query from a Local Authority highway engineer regarding the=20=

use of red traffic signals to stop drivers who are exceeding the speed=20=

limit.
A system is in use in Spain whereby a vehicle exceeding the speed limit=20=

immediately calls a red traffic signal some 100 to 150 metres down the=20=

road, which stops the speeding vehicle.=20

We have been asked if there are any similar systems in use in the UK and=20=

if any systems are approved for use in the UK.

Any feedback would be appreciated.
