[TCUG] "One-can" crossings

I have been asked by a colleague to pose a question to see if anyone has
implemented a crossing facility for cyclists, which is, to all intents
and purposes, as per a TOUCAN crossing, but without any reference to
pedestrian usage.=20

The reason for this requirement stems from a need to offer a cycle
crossing in a location where a cycle route starts off in a shared
footway (running alongside the road), crosses this busy road, then
continues as a cycle only path. Installing a TOUCAN could result in
pedestrians crossing the main road, only to find that they have nowhere
to go. The obvious way to overcome this would seem to provide a shared
footway on the far-side, however this is not possible as the cycle way
immediately continues over a river bridge that is shared with a bus
lane, so that there simply isn't any room for pedestrian provision. An
alternative solution could be to use RAG signals with amber and green
cycle aspects (to diagram 3000.2), however it is felt that this wouldn't
provide a workable solution due to the space constraints on the shared
footway which results in it not being possible to deflect the cycle path
as it approaches the crossing to provide a suitable approach.

Has anyone implemented (and received approval for(?)) a near-side
crossing which uses pdu's with red and green cycles and no pedestrian
symbol on, I.E. similar to the PEGASUS unit (diagram 4003.4) but with
cycles instead of horses!=20
