John Silvester has found out the information I passed on about setting vacation mode wasn't quite complete - I'll be letting the Freelists organisers know (obviously they don't ever go on holiday). John's e-mail (below) explains it all. Pete Bull -----Original Message----- From: Silvester, John P [mailto:John.Silvester@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 30 July 2002 09:11 To: 'Bull Peter' Subject: FW: Ecartis command results: Vacation 35 Peter, For your information, the vacation facility requires you to advise of the "time units" your specified vacation period is in. I received the following today (labelled below "FIRST RESPONSE") which requires you to specify the units your vacation duration is in (i.e. days, hours, minutes & seconds) - bloody great these computers!!. I have since sent a further message to suspend communications by placing a space and a "d" after the number of days (i.e. vacation 35 d) in the subject box. This seems to have worked - SEE "SECOND RESPONSE" below. Regards John FIRST RESPONSE Request received for list 'tcug' via request address. >> Vacation 35 '35 ' is not a valid duration. Durations are: [<num> d] [<num> h] [<num> m] [<num> s] Since a valid command was found in the Subject field, your message body won't be checked for further commands. SECOND RESPONSE Request received for list 'tcug' via request address. >> Vacation 35 d Vacation will end on Tue, 03 Sep 2002 02:50:49 -0500 (EST) Since a valid command was found in the Subject field, your message body won't be checked for further commands.
