Some do, some just terminate on the fuel line. Just make sure that the fuel line is clamped properly onto the gauge otherwise you'll be filling your engine compartment with a nice spray of gas...
Also, keep a fire extinguisher handy.

Will,
When you say make sure it's clamped at the end, can you
explain? Doesn;t the gauge hook up between the pump and carb?

Go to a FLAPS and rent the gauge. Start the Engine, let it
warm up. (Choke open) Shut engine off, dicsonnect fuel line at
carb. put fuel pressure gague in the line. have somebody restart the
engine while you watch the gauge. Make sure it's clamped on the end of
the line.
Should be a minimum of 3 PSI.
Here's a YouBoob
Video showing the gasket "shimming" and it's affect on Fuel
Pressure.

I've been told to check the fuel pressure
from the fuel pump......(Denis chime in here at anytime)
me, check the fuel pressure, right,,,,, I
looked in the Bentley and trying to figure out "connect a fuel gauge from
the fuel pump to the carb and using an alternative fuel source" you should
see xyz psi...
What?
Anyone ever done this?
The best part is about using "gaskets" to get
the right pressure at the pump, how the heck does that work? Shimming up the
pump?
Please enlighten me .
