With the help of my wife.
The same behaviour is observed on 6600 (using old Talks)and N70(using 2.50)
Whilst charging the bars continuously cycle from 0 to 7 even when reaching
the fully charged state. However both phones correctly report the state of
charge, with the charger plugged in or not.
Don't know where that leaves us.

No, I don't think this is a Talks bug. the same thing happens with my Nokia 6600. The battery is at full charge when Talks says 7 bars, which also indicates full network strength. Maybe someone with some sight on the list could confirm whether the number of bars scroll during charging.
