Hello Fellow Rowers,
It was a wonderful launch celebration today as Bev said. Totally agree with the
best moments being Betty Hogg getting in our boat and Hannah and Isaac bringing
the flowers to Julie and Julie's response. Fantastic organisers and everyone
getting involved helping. And of course lovely that Wormit and Anstruther
joined us making it an even more special day.
So here's the scoop for the Tay Skiff Row and the link for the doodle poll ---
Please see the email below with the information. This is an excellent
opportunity for everyone in the club to have a fun, enjoyable, non-competitive
social row for anyone of any ability rowing, regardless of whether you are a
new member or experienced. The rowing will be with the tides so do not be put
off by the distances. There are 6 different legs of the trip between
approximately 10K and 15K. Recalling the Easter Row which some of us did this
in April, the 15K did not take as long as 2 hours and it was not a strenuous
row. Most of us felt we could easily have done an additional leg of the trip.
Wormit and Newburgh clubs have been invited.
The row will take off from Broughty Ferry at the Royal Tay Yacht Club, make 3
stops up to Perth and 3 stops back and finishing back at Broughty Ferry.
Most importantly, In order for our club to participate in this row, we will
need someone volunteer to tow the boat and we will need a cox for each leg.
The boats can be left overnight.
In order to assess interest and organise potential crews please add your
name to the doodle poll . The crews will need a five for each leg including
the cox
1. Add your name to the doodle poll in the normal way .
2. Put a 1 beside your name and tick the box for your first choice of the
section to row .
3. Put a 2 beside your name and tick the box for your second choice of
section to row .
4. Put a C beside your name if you can cox a section.
For example;
