Today's site, as is the custom at this time of year, reviews the biggest
stories over the past twelve months worldwide based on the number of searches
in Google's search engine. Gentle Subscribers will find a welcoming design
which invites visitors to pause and peruse the most significant events of the
year.

Google took the "not a dry eye in the house" approach in the 2:00 minute
introductory video to their presentation, hitting the most poignant and
heart-stirring events of the year. Selecting 18 of the most searched for
answers for the main section, the topics ranged widely, from the Oscars to the
World Cricket Cup. For each selection, details such as the top questions on the
subject, a data breakdown of interest by country, and queries on related
subjects, among others, accompany the item.
