Today's site, a staple from a bank which may be better known for its annual
cost accounting of The Twelve Days of Christmas gift list than its banking
services, offers its annual whimsical perspective. Gentle Subscribers will find
this year's PNC frolic to be both informative and entertaining.

Christmas Price Index, a unique holiday tradition that makes learning about the

This year's Christmas Price Index theme revolves around gingerbread, so much so
that a Gingerbread Branch of the bank was constructed in early December. A
virtual tour is available, along with interviews with those who had a hand in
its creation. The customary details on the cost of all the gifts caroled in
The Twelve Days of Christmas are presented with PNC's usual panache, as well as
the grand total and the percentage increases or declines over the previous year.
Note: While the site works well in Chrome and satisfactorily in Internet
Explorer, it appears to have limited functionality in Firefox.
