Hi Louise

Yes, I find that most people are wanting vegetable base as well.

I use between 5-15% Mango butter in my recipes - i increase for the more
conditioning/moisturising batches. I use 5% in my standard recipe.

I make up approx a 1.5kg batch/per of soap per time cut into 12 bars. The
mango butter adds approx 6c per bar so not expensive at all.

Just something a little different for my soaps:-)

Thanks for your advice Julie. I’m a bit nervous about using lard for that very
reason, I really don’t want stinky smelling soap plus most people I know want
all vegetable soaps.

What percentage mango butter do you use? Does it bring the cost of your soap
up? Is it better (in your opinion) than shea?

Thanks
Louise

Hi Louise

People love goat's milk and honey soaps - it is always a top seller at the
local markets. I keep mine completely naked - no scents or colours added, so
perfect for people with problem skin. I also regularly use mango butter. Mango
butter is very nutritious for the skin and has wonderful conditioning
properties. I like mango butter so much i have incorporated it into my stock
standard recipe.
also dabbled with lard soaps and never again. Everything just comes out
smelling yuk!!
