Long shot, maybe, but any chance 'burgonia' could refer to 'bergenia' - a
pink flowered perennial much loved by bees?

In beekeeping terms, a hackle refers to a straw cover put over a skep hive to
protect it from the weather.

  Best wishes to all,

  Pam

know what a burgonia is, not referring to the plant begonia is it?

    Hi. There,

Can someone out there with a beekeepers encyclopedia please answer these
questions?

    1. What is a hackle?
    2. What does burgonia mean?

These are questions from the section 4 in the Course In a Case. (History
questions)

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

    Regards,

    Roy.
