ok, I'm completely blank about this problem...
only thing I can say:
1) as you can read in
http://workaround.ch/pub/slackintosh/current/source/k/config the
required field is in
2) you say now that a freeze occurs, could it be that the disc is dying?
however, you're awarded with the "strangest bug of all time" prize ;-)
