It will affect playback if live playback is turned off. In fact, Sibelius gets far more proactive in interpreting the score once you switch live playback off. Looking in the expression lists, I found that I was familiar to some of them like PPP to FFF and Cresc, but others don't mean much to me. I see what I can find in the manual. I think you then right mouse click to bring up a menu of expressions that you can select. Alternatively, I thought I saw something about Sibelius respecting the velocity of notes input from a MIDI keyboard but I can't remember where it is. Did I dream? There you will find a way to enter expression text. Then look at the lines you can enter. There you will find hairpins and other lines that affect the playback. I won't quote the Sibelius manual because I haven't used it very much. Instead of telling me how to do it, could you please tell me where to look ? As a Sibelius novice, I will be asking all sorts of silly questions like this one. This leads me to another question. The Sibelius reference manual that comes with the software is a real pain to navigate through, even after converting it to a text file. I asked Sibelius about an electronic copy of the entire Sibelius user guide but they said they couldn't provide it. Is anything like this available from Sibelius access?
