Hello!
Today I would like to talk about slurs in Sibelius, to share some thoughts
and, of course, to ask some questions.
It is very difficult to imagine the score without any slurs in it. Well, of
course, there are many scores with the small amout of slurs or without slurs at
all, especially those from early periods of music history but I dom't think
that somebody won't agree that slurs are almost essential part of score.
Fortunately, we can manipulate slurs and get all information about them but
don't you think that sometimes it is a real headache to check all the slurs in
your finished score, especially if it is a more or less complex one? Recently I
came up with an idea of sound indication which would indicate the beginning and
end of the slurs when moving through the score. So I have a couple of questions
regarding my idea. The first question is adressed to all blind users of
Sibelius. Do you think that sound indication of beginning and end of the slur
could be a powerfull tool to check your scores? And the second question is for
those of us who is currently working with Avid on Sibelius accessibility. Is it
possible to try and push this idea at least in the long list of things which
should be done?
Will be glad to hear any thoughts.
Dmitry
