James,

I found these two listed under "Bars" in the PlugIn menu, and I think they 
are part of the standard set delivered with Sib 5. If not, then they can be 
downloaded from the Sibelius site:

MultiRestLine.plg
MultirestText.plg

I'm pretty sure one of these will allow you to specify your own number of 
bars to repeat.

Thanks for your help. Do you remember the name of the plugin? I couldn't
find the plugin that does multibar repeats. I also googled about 8 bar
repeats on sibelius, but it seems I can only do 4 bars.
