James, I'm pretty sure that the multi-bar repeat symbol is just that. The number of bars to repeat is simply a number immediately adjacent to that symbol. So you could have it denote any number of bars. Hi, I believe there are signs for one bar repeat and two bar repeat, but I'm not sure about 4 bar repeat. What about the phrase was 8 bars long? Would writing slashes and putting technique marks as repeat on start of every 8 bars be the best solution then?
