Hi Ihsan, Your suggestion would work fine if the entire design that includes the S-parameter model were linear time-invariant. In case of non-linear devices and arbitrary topology, the time-domain simulation is the only available option, and therefore, S-parameter model must allow stable and accurate simulation in time domain, too. From here are the requirements on their passivity and causality.
