Tim, When using IBIS in HSPICE, you have the option of what power to use. There is a keyword "power={on|off}" that tells HSPICE what to use. If power=on (the default condition), voltage sources are used with values taken from the IBIS file. With power=off, you need to externally supply the voltage to the cell. For your sim's you need to use power=off. I translated a HSPICE model to an IBIS file to speed up simulation time and avoid nasty convergence issues. Correlation between the two is very good for different cases and loading. I have a 14 pin fully coupled SSO HSPICE package model. When I try to use IBIS with the package model, the correlation is not good. The problem is how do I tie the power and ground of the IBIS file to the power and ground of the package model? When you call an IBIS file in HSPICE, you use the internal voltages supplied with the IBIS file. So maybe I can make the assumption that the output signal is coming from ideal ground and power. If I make 14 calls, then they should be coming from the same power/ground, but they are not. Even if I use Pin Mapping, will HSPICE recognize this? Even if I could get the 14 IBIS calls to all go from the same power/ground, how do I interface those to the package? (the power and ground) I think you can supply external power/ground to the IBIS file (I've never tried it before) might that be a way to tie the power and grounds together? I'm also using HPSICE version 2002.2. This has a new feature (or I believe it is new) to use .ebd and .pkg files.(using the new IBIS buffer component .ibs) This won't help me in this situation, but down the road can an .ebd file be used more effectively to simulate SSO? Thanks in advance for any comments/suggestions/enlightenment, Tim ------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from si-list: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field or to administer your membership from a web page, go to: //www.freelists.org/webpage/si-list For help: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'help' in the Subject field List archives are viewable at: //www.freelists.org/archives/si-list or at our remote archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/si-list/messages Old (prior to June 6, 2001) list archives are viewable at: http://www.qsl.net/wb6tpu ------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from si-list: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field or to administer your membership from a web page, go to: //www.freelists.org/webpage/si-list For help: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'help' in the Subject field List archives are viewable at: //www.freelists.org/archives/si-list or at our remote archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/si-list/messages Old (prior to June 6, 2001) list archives are viewable at: http://www.qsl.net/wb6tpu
