Hi, I have a different question. Is it a good idea to use a multimeter (12V) to check shorts for low voltage devices? The applied voltage could damage these CMOS devices permanently especially the low voltages! I usually put the multimeter in high resistance mode and check the resistance. I don't know if that too is correct way to go. Does anyone have any other easy solution? Is there any multi-meter of other voltage? Yes. Not only will the multimeter with the 12 V battery probably apply a much smaller voltage when measuring resistance, but not every DVM uses 12 V for power. My pocket one uses 3 V. ------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from si-list: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field The information contained in this electronic message and any attachments to this message are intended for the exclusive use of the addressee(s) and may contain proprietary, confidential or privileged information.
