Possibly. I think there would a LOT of interest in methods of using complex SI/EMC tools effectively. Todd. I have attempted to slow down my consulting activity over the past three years with an eye on "retirement," but new and exciting tasks have continued to whet my appetite and I have fallen prey to their challenges. Therefore, I have decided that true retirement is still a few years off. I am seriously thinking of gathering all my older work and melding it with my current high-speed work to produce a new tutorial (or two). I would be updating the old presentation material (using PowerPoint), adding new design technique refinements commensurate with the ongoing improvements in software analysis tools, and including some dynamic simulations/demonstrations (for both SI and radiated emissions effects). I have also just completed some new work in circumventing the exclusive use of Ansoft and H-SPICE, et al, for accurate modeling and simulation of multiple coupled T-lines (including adjacent layer traces and frequency-dependent losses caused by skin effect and dielectric losses). I am considering a paper for DesignCON 2003 on this topic. FINALLY, THE QUESTION: Do you think there is reasonable interest in still another "Designing for SI/EMC" tutorial for sale? Mike Michael L.
