i have been going to nationals since 1963.
there have been 15 nationals on the west coast. 6 in southern cal, 3 in
arizona, 3 in colorado, 1 each in washington, oregon and utah. one third of the
population of the USA lives west of the mississippi River.two thirds live east
of it.
We have had 4 nationals in Texas, 1 in Oklahoma, 2 in kansas,5 now in
Missouri,1 in Tenn, 2 in kentucky,1 in Michigan, 4 in Ohio(20)
On the East coast 1 in Florida, 7 in Georgia, 1 in North Carolina. 2 in New
Jersey, 2 in Penn, and 3 in New York(16)
Our largest national entry in conformation was 1100. the smallest 275. The
average entry over those years about 650. With the entries dropping notice that
our conformation entry is now half that number. But the interesting thing is
that the specials entry remains about the same year after year after year. It
is the class entry that is dropping. The answer is not to offer dumb classes
liked COATED ones but go back to offering classes like OFA or must have
performance title classes.Our performance entry is going up so lets get the
performance dogs back in the breed ring again.How about a class of CHIC
certified dogs only. Temperament is very important.
