I don't have children and my dogs have never lived in a home with children.
I won't "settle" for less than I know these dogs can be. I used to go along
and make all of the politically correct noises AND SECRETELY FEEL BAD FOR
THOSE THAT "SETTLED". In an era though, of breed legislation, problems w/
home
owners insurance etc., etc., if folks are going to stand up and protest such
restrictions, then we had BETTER POLICE OUR OWN. Therefore, moving forward,
I'm going to stand up and say...no SHOUT..."that's wrong"!
You mentioned "maybe the dog was startled". Pray tell, how a dog, with part
of it being of a breed that can find earthquake victims under 35 feet of
concrete and rubble CAN BE STARTLED BY A CHILD STANDING NEXT TO IT????????
On Mother's Day my brother, his 18 month old son, Nicholas, and one of my
boys were rough-housing on my parent's back lawn. They baby was crawling over
the dog who had rolled over for a belly rub and with my brother right there,
somehow slipped and stepped on the dog's testicles. You could hear the
"wwwwooooofff" as the poor dog exhaled, like all of the air had been let out
of
him (poor boy!). Did he snarl, bite, growl?????...OF COURSE NOT! You can't
"train" that.
NO EXCUSES!!!!
