I find this to be true in many all-breed shows. I avoid them unless it is
a shepherd judge. There are some who do know, but most of them do not know
our breed.
I do judge the ARBA shows with 241 breeds. And, no, I don't know all the
standards. But, if I want to, I can go look at them while I am judging, and
even take them into the ring.
I am not going to criticize the judge, since all I know is the GSD
standard. But, I have to assume if you asked him the number one issue in our
standard, he would not know it. It is different from all other breeds. I know
because I was on the board when we voted to do so.
We don't know what he saw, what was in his head, or why he did what he
did. I could use that line on many dog shows, including some specialties

So, in light of this, no matter how good she looked, or how close to the
standard she was, it was not going to make a difference.
