*There is a very heavy rubber mat available at horse supply stores that 
can be put on the ground. It is very thick and heavy.  No problem to 
hose off, and the shavings can be picked up easily. It is a good idea to 
put boards or something along the edges to keep the shavings from 
getting out of the run. This also has the advantage of being easy on the 
feet. I prefer pine to cedar when I buy shavings. Doris E
