Maybe we need to consider using some of the new technology. Why can't we do
a video tape of the top animals, and distribute that instead of a
illustration? I am not saying the new Illustrated Standard isn't a good
thing, but I
have not seen it, and have to go with what others are saying.
I never saw an illustrated standard before I started to learn this breed,
and figured out how to judge a German shepherd by looking at German shepherds.
That probably explains my judging. I figure if someone has to look at
pictures to learn this breed, we need to use a picture of a judge to show to.
Education is important but only as valuable as the person teaching. We do
need to know that if we are going to have an illustrated standard, that it is
the best that can be offered. I know how hard Lana lee has worked on this.
Let's see what there is and then decide what to do with it.
