i had the same thing happen to an older bitch of mine(15 years)...she relied
on a male i let out with her to know when to come back in....she responded
to me inside always or just knew the routine)....never really knew she was
deaf until i clapped my hands behind her ears when she was outside and had no
response from her....she had me fooled for a long time......when she was
outside by herself, i used an outside bell and she could hear that.....natalie
