It is true that Lamar was not a judge but Lamar showed at all breed shows.
As a matter of fact, he handled many other breeds including top dobes. He
was a master at grooming and, in his seminars, emphasized the need for GSD
people to learn from other breeds how to groom properly. Your post made a
very
interesting point - we revere these knowledgeable people and then "put
down"
the very arena where they shined. Interesting !!

PS This weekend I finished my little Cavalier, who thinks he is a German
Shepherd, under two breeder judges, he is now Ch. Kavalor Baxter. What a
great
little dog, with a big heart, just like all the dogs at Deb-Mar.
