[ SHOWGSD-L ] All-Breeds in the past

It has occurred to me that maybe this is a recent debate. Now, I mention
this because of great conversations, rap sessions, and basic brain picking I
have done with many great and knowledgeable GSD breeders.
Doesn't it seem strange to revere Lamar, Lang and Ernie when you knock
the fact that they were exhibitors and judges (Lamar excluded - I think) at
BOTH all-breeds and specialties? They used their immense knowledge and
understanding to not only reward good GSD in ALL venues, but to educate anyone
they
came in contact with?
Funny how things were so much more in sync then...
