I interrogated the database for all members whose expiration date was 12/31/2004 and generated a personalized letter (name and address above salutation, first name in salutation, date joined club in body of letter) that had a membership renewal form on the back side. The letter was c-folded and inserted into a #10 envelope along with a self-addressed (but not stamped) envelope for return. Both envelopes were printed (no adhesive labels used). The total expense for the mailing campaign will be covered by 2½ renewals.

Probably a good idea.  EVAC has just gone through this.  Peter went one
better, and snail mailed members who did not renew.  I think he's on this
list, so maybe he can pitch in with what he did.
