The meter in the F is coupled to the shutter speed and aperture
so
that when you adjust the meter needle you also adjust the exposure.
This may be faster but it requires additional mechanism for the
coupling. The first E series cameras had the same fixed finder hood
as
preceding models. The F and some late E's have a removable hood
which
allows the use of an eye level prism and easy changing of the
ground
glass. The F also has a different arrangement for the parallax
compensating mask allowing it to work when the finder is masked for
35mm film. There are other differences in the camera but they are
mostly internal and of little importance as far as performance is
concerned.
