But that is what is being added by the yahpoo server, *not* what your machine is saying. A mailer doesn't add "Received:" headers, only an MTA does. Take another look at the headers: Received: from unknown (HELO ?192.168.1.3?) This header was added **BY THE MACHINE TO WHICH YOU'RE HANDING OFF THE MAIL, NOT BY YOUR MACHINE**. It is saying that it was unable to resolve rDNS from your public IP address ("unknown") and that it was contacted by a machine that identified itself as "?192.168.1.3?" ("HELO ?192.168.1.3?"). It is probably your mailer that's responsible for this. I suggest you make sure that you have the correct entry in /etc/hosts file on your workstation: 192.168.1.3 domain_name_which_resolves_to_your_public_ip_address For example: 192.168.1.3 robertwittig.org Thunderbird should then know that the machine it's running on, 192.168.1.3, should be called "robertwittig.org" and should say "HELO robertwittig.org" instead of "HELO ?192.168.1.3?" from that point onwards. If not, it's b0rken. - -- G.
