I think what you're dealing with is the Task Pane, which can certainly be = a pain. To turn it off (for the most part), do the following: 1) ALT+T to open the Tools Menu. 2) Type O to open the Options dialog box. You should be in the View Tab = with the focus on the option for start up the Task Pane. Make sure this = is not checked. The Task Pane may still appear from time to time, depending on what tasks = your are performing, but it shouldn't be as annoying. If it does appear and you need to zap it again, go to the View Menu, arrow = down to the Task Pane option and make sure it is unchecked. This is a = temporary fix that only works if the Task Pane is turned off in the View = Tab of the Options Dialog Box. HTH!
