Are you using a wireless connect from the laptop to the desktop? If so, that could be the issue. I remember when I purchased my wireless router I was considering a slower system. The tech told me that on the wireless side I would possibly notice some lag if I were streaming large, high-quality video or maybe even audio files. Since the better router was only another 20 dollars, and I knew he was telling me the truth since some friends had told me the same thing, I went with a faster router and have not experienced any problems either connecting to the other computer or to the internet. I have a network connection to my laptop and desktop. All my music is on an external hard drive that is connected to my laptop computer. Last night, I was playing some music through my network and I notice something with it. Every now and then, the track I am listening to stop in Winamp. I guess you can say it locks up then starts again. Then locks up then starts again. Basically what I am saying is that it sounds like it is buffering but it's not. When I go to the laptop and play the same track, it works fine. I am trying to figure out if this is a network issue, or a connection to the network that Winamp is having a problem with. If this question is to technical for the list, I'm sorry. Any and all help would be appreciated.
