It seems about the same. I didn't know about the escape thing - it always
took me awhile to actually hang up.

Hello Group, This message below was sent to me from a list of Window Eyes
users. I was curious about skype, since I have little familiarity with it.
It sounds like an amazing tool. I am just passing it along since it was a
good summary for those who are not that savvy about it. I would ask those
of you experts out there, is there a lot of difference in skype between Jaws
commands and Window Eyes commands? Thanks, Ginny

Skype is a simple, free programme which allows users who have the
application installed on their machines to take part in live audio chats
throughout the World. I have a sister in Dubai, I live in the UK, hence
telephone calls are expensive. I use skype to keep in contact with her on a
regular basis. Using my laptop with an in built microphone and web cam I
can talk to her in real time, just like using the telephone and she can see
me and my children on her screen. Best of all, it doesn't cost anything and
we can chat as often, and for as long as we like.

Skype is really easy to use and can be downloaded from www.getskype.com

Once installed you create a user identity and profile. You request access
to other profiles and they become part of your contacts list. To call a
contact you simply arrow to them in your list and press enter.
Incidentally, using the tab key moves you between your contacts list and an
edit box where you can type user names.

To end a call simply press the escape key.

To answer a call when someone calls you press the alt key, arrow right to
call, down arrow to answer and press enter. You will be told who is calling
and if you want to answer press enter again. If you don't, then press
escape.

Anything else you need drop me an e mail.

Michael
