Back in the 70's, a professional photographer friend used to supplement his income by coating "river rocks" or "beach stones" (stones worn smooth from water and/or sand action) with a photosensitive emulsion and printing line drawings (made on Kodalith from full-scale originals) on them, then selling them as bookends, paperweights, or just ornaments. We're no longer in contact, and I never asked him where he got the emulsion. I know it was a commercially-prepared product that came in a glass jar inside a lightproof cardboard container, but that's it. Does that sound familiar to anyone? One is made by Rockland Colloid http://www.rockaloid.com/ Another brand is sold by J&C Photo. There are also a couple of books which describeusing emulsion. One is Silver Gelatin: A User's Guide to Liquid Photographic Emulsions Martin Reed, Sarah Jones There is an interesting article on the same site as the book: http://www.alternativephotography.com/process_dryplate.html Richard Knoppow dickburk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Los Angeles, CA, USA ============================================================================================================= To unsubscribe from this list, go to www.freelists.org and logon to your account (the same e-mail address and password you set-up when you subscribed,) and unsubscribe from there.
