My tests showed it to maintain a temp +/- 1 degree C. I use mine in a closed picnic cooler. So once it hits the right temp it keeps it there pretty easy. It's not fast but nothing stops a person from adding warm water to begin with. The water pump I added got rid of any hot spots.
