Into the fray: I do recall that Polaroid (the company) had-a-paper, did tests and wrote about it, stating that there were negative effects to the point of discouragement of the practice freezing-thawing-freezing over the long haul.
I offer this only as a direction of inquiry of that paper as I recall no more. A little kindling hardly keeps the body warm, scratch your back or burn it.
