Are you talking about the density of the poly(ethylene telephthalate)
film base itself? Modern emulsions blend latex polymers,
polyacrylates, polyacrylamides, and colloidal silica in addition to
gelatin for the coated layers and some of these may have quite strong
UV blocking properties. And different manufacturers have different
blends.
