I must make a correction to a statement about the phenidone in alcohol.  I'm 
getting old, and I have many distractions to boot...

I do not make a 25% solution and then cut it further to a 10% solution.  What I 
do actually mix is as follows:

10 grams of phenidone is mixed into 250ml of 90% isopropyl alcohol to make a 4% 
solution. I store the mix long term in this form. From the 4% solution, I mix 
down further to a 1% solution, which I believe is 25ml of the 4% phenidone 
solution further mixed with 75ml of 90% isopropyl alcohol. It is the 1% 
solution with which I work to make the film or paper developers.   I realized 
my mistake when looking for the phenidone/alcohol articles by Pat Gainer.
