Oooh... I just read this (when I googled "repair Microsight focuser"); >>>Adjustable eyepiece with air suspended hair reticle.<<<The eyepiece is mounted with screw threads to allow adjusting it for individual eyes. The important part is the position of the cross hair, this establishes the reference point for the instrument. If its shifted from its original position the instrument will no longer be correctly referenced to the paper. My microsite is packed up because I have had painters working so I can't look at it right now. I am not sure how its mounted. I think you have the right idea about contacting the manufacturer, they may want you to send it back. Despite its simplicity I find it the most useful of the focusing aids."Air suspended hair reticle". I'm supposing I should not be screwing this in from the top after removing the eyepiece. Since it fell out the bottom, it must have been held there another way. Those threads are so fine, I can't seem to get them into it from the bottom. I know these can be sent back in for repair, though I hate to bewithout it that long so was hoping to fix it myself.Maybe Monday I can call and get info from the manufacturer if nobodyhere knows how to fix it. Still watching and hoping for experienced advice. Thanks. Janet
