I've tried several things without finding a completely satisfactory adhesive. Evidently clear laquer was used for many years. It works and is removable with alcohol. Pliobond and other contact cements are too thick and are difficult to remove. Rubber cement is awful and causes corrosion of metals under the cement. This can result in "Zeiss bumps" where brass screws corrode under the leather. I have not tried print mounting cement yet but I think that is a possibility. Cements like Scotch No.77 or Photo Mount are thin contact cements which should not cause damage to either the metal or the leather. Somewhere Rollei specifies the cement they used but only by a German brand name. I have no idea what the stuff really is. For cleaning cements try the following, given in order of strength: Isopropyl alchohol, Methyl alcohol, Acetone, Xylene (AKA Xylol). --- Richard Knoppow Los Angeles, CA, USA dickburk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ============================================================================================================= To unsubscribe from this list, go to www.freelists.org and logon to your account (the same e-mail address and password you set-up when you subscribed,) and unsubscribe from there.
