        If I'm understanding the Jobo webpage right the old style reels are 
just 
normal Hewes reels but they can't take the core. The new kind need the 
plastic core. To quote the webpage

"The center cores serve 3 purposes. First, they provide a way to easily pour 
the chemicals into the tanks. Secondly, they form part of the light trap 
design of the tanks, and finally they provide a way to secure the reels into 
the tanks so that when the tank rotates, the reels rotate too."
